Terms of Service

The service

Hey, I'm Still Alive ("the Service") is a personal safety check-in tool. You set a timer. If you don't check in before it expires, we send an email to your designated emergency contacts. That's it.

Not an emergency service

This is not a substitute for emergency services. The Service does not contact police, fire, or medical services on your behalf. It sends emails to people you choose. In a real emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your check-in timer active if you want the service to monitor you
  • Making sure your emergency contacts are willing to receive alerts
  • Keeping your account email address current
  • Pausing your timer if you won't be checking in for a period

Subscription and billing

The Service costs $20 per year after a 30-day free trial. Payment is processed by Stripe. Your subscription renews annually. You may cancel at any time — your access continues until the end of the paid period. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked.

Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is." We are not liable for missed alerts due to email delivery failures, server downtime, incorrect contact information, or any other technical failure. We make reasonable efforts to keep the service running reliably, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime or email deliverability.

Do not rely solely on this service as your only safety measure when engaging in high-risk activities.

Account termination

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that abuse the service, submit false information, or violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We'll notify active subscribers of material changes by email.
