The Story Behind Hey, I'm Still Alive

Built by Albuquerque-based web developer and designer Al Lozoya, Hey, I'm Still Alive started with a very relatable problem. As a family man, Al knew how easily loved ones worry when you don't reply immediately. He needed an effortless, private way to say "I'm fine" without the pressure of constant texting and calls — and a dependable safety net if a real emergency happened.

Keeping It Simple.

Safety shouldn't require a manual. This tool was built with a strict, no-nonsense philosophy:

  • ✓ No complicated setups.
  • ✓ No subscription traps.

It's just a simple check-in timer that alerts the people who care about you. We made sure it's easy enough for anyone's grandma to use. Above all, it is maintained with a genuine interest in protecting the people who use it and reassuring the families who wait for them.

Fun fact: The name is a nod to the classic Pearl Jam song, "Alive."
